College Introduction
Sinopec Management Institute (referred to SMI) is the integrated high-level personnel training base, functioning as the Communist Party School, personnel training center, information technology training center and e-learning center of Sinopec Group, who got the award as National Technical Engineering Personnel Continuing Education Base in 2011.
SMI was prepared to be constructed in 1985, was formally established in 1987, and was moved to the current location in 2004. After more than 20 years' development, SMI has gained remarkable achievement in training and research consulting, reforming and innovation, management services, team building, cultural construction, infrastructure and teaching conditions. At present, there are 12 departments in the institute, namely, General Administration Department, Human Resources Department, Finance & Accounting Department, Training Administration Department (Foreign Affair Department), Management Training Department (Communist Party School Department), Technical Engineering Training Department, International Business Training Department (Foreign Language Training Department ), E-learning Department, Research & Development Department, Information Technology Department, Journal Department and Service & Maintenance Department. SMI has already built up a comprehensive faculty team of full-time and part-time teachers, among whom we have party committee members of Sinopec Group, academicians from the Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Engineering, senior management and technical experts, other experts and scholars from well-known universities, training and scientific research institutions in China and abroad as guest professors and part-time teachers.
The campus of Sinopec Management Institute covers approximate 17 acres, with construction area of 52,400 square meters. The main facilities includes 53 multi-functional classrooms, two auditorium rooms with 600 and 300 seats respectively, 769 dormitories, 6 dining halls, which can provide accommodation to 829 students. We provide efficient campus network with 130 trillion bandwidth of. The Learning Resource Center has a large number of electronic materials and paper corpus. The E-learning system has officially launched the on-line operation, which is developed on Oracle iLearning 5.2 system. It is programmed on distributed deployment and centralized data management, integrated with the hardware and software video broadcasting system, Sinopec SAP-HR system and unified identity management system, which could provide four functions of on-line study, training management, resource management and test evaluation. At present, the institute is well equipped with advanced facilities and management skills and could provide students with more convenient learning and living conditions. In addition, there is another campus in Anxiang North (Jianxiang Bridge), Chaoyang District with construction area of 16,000 square meters, which can accommodate 230 students.
The Sinopec Management Institute functions majorly as the senior management training base of Sinopec Group, integrated with training, researching and consulting. The institute provides training for senior management personnel, high-level technical engineering personnel, and international personnel, meanwhile engaging in strengthening the functions of consulting and guiding to the training centers, specialized training bases and training units affiliated to Sinopec. The institute will playing the leading and modeling role in talents training, base constructing, courses & text books developing and training theory researching.
The Sinopec Management Institute is mainly responsible for the following four types of training tasks: Firstly, senior management and reserve personnel training, focusing on the managers, young back-up leaders, and middle-level leaders from the functions of headquarters and major subsidiaries of Sinopec; Secondly, senior technical expertise's training, targeting on experts and young backbone talents from oil and gas exploration and development, refining and chemical industry, engineering construction, scientific research and sales; Thirdly, international business talents training, aiming at managers , technical experts and foreign employees from international exploration and development projects, international oil engineering projects and international trading; Fourthly, trainers' training, majoring in training administrative managers and full-time and part-time teachers from the training centers under Sinopec.
